Happy Birthday!
Wow, where has that year gone… Let’s celebrate your little ones birthday in style. This is often done on their first birthday but if you’d rather it at a different age then that is absolutely fine!
A cake smash is as fun as it sounds. We have a cake and we let your baby go wild and smash it to pieces. We begin with some lovely shots of your little one all dressed up in a nice outfit. Then the cake comes out - how will your little one react? Will they dive straight in or delicately eat the icing! After all the mess if you have chosen the package to include the splash we will pop them in a metal bath tub and have a good splash around.
As you probably can imagine these sessions create quite a bit of mess so I do require two adults to be present throughout the shoot.
Below are the packages I offer. If you need anymore information then please get in touch and I will be happy to help.
A £50 non refundable deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid before your session date.

Choosing the cake..
Below are some tips for choosing the cake for your little ones photoshoot.
A smaller two layered cake about 6 inches is best. Any bigger can look too big next to your baby.
The cake must be decorated in buttercream rather than fondant. This is because buttercream is soft and easy for your baby to smash. It also makes more mess, which looks good in the photos.
Vanilla sponge is best decorated with a lighter colour such as pale pinks or purples, pale blues, or white. Avoid reds and browns as these can look like blood, dirt or even worse when covered round your baby’s face!
Make sure the cake is simple and coordinates with your chosen colour theme. Your baby is the main focal point of the photographs not the cake!
Buying from a supermarket?
Make sure you look in plenty of time as it’s easier to find pink girly cakes however for boys it isn’t as easy!

My child has allergies, can I still have a cake smash done?
Absolutely! This is the main reason I ask you to provide the cake. This way we are sure it is suitable.
-
Can siblings join in the photoshoot?
I start by taking some photos with your little one dressed up, 2 siblings can be included within the price above.
When we get the cake out, these are best photographed with just the birthday boy/girl.
-
How should I dress my child for the photos?
It’s entirely up to you what you would like your baby to wear for the photoshoot.
We start with some dressed up photos so a nice outfit is ideal for this. During the cake smash popular outfit choices are tutu’s or party dresses in pastel colours for girls and dungarees or shorts with or without suspenders for boys.

Where does the photoshoot take place?
The session will take place in the comfort of your own home.
I am based in Worthing, West Sussex and I travel up to 20 miles free of charge, however I can travel further with a small fee to cover expenses.

How long will it take to receive my photos?
Your edited photos will be available in a private online gallery 3-4 weeks after your session. You can then choose your free photos included with your package. Any additional photos you would like can be purchased separately.
